Mid-week Meetings

Housegroups are held on Tuesday evenings across Tavistock and the outlying areas. Each housegroup, usually of six to eight people, includes an Elder and a Deacon, and chooses its own focus for study, whether following a specific book of the Bible, or looking at the Biblical teaching on a topical issue. Resources are varied and can include CDs, DVDs or study guides, but will always include the Bible! Housegroups are also the first responders with pastoral care to its members.

Men's Meeting takes place on the first Monday of the month, when the men of our fellowship - often joined by men from other Tavistock fellowships, share a meal together and share testimonies, prayer and fellowship. Many of the men find this men-only group invaluable, as it provides an opportunity to discuss topical concerns sometimes not aired in a mixed gender meeting.

Brave is a fortnightly meeting, held on a Wednesday evening in Abbey Chapel, specifically for ladies who want to explore more about the Christian Faith. This group, comprising new and mature believes, is currently looking at discipleship.

We hold a Tea Service, usually on the second Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m., including songs of praise and worship, Bible reading, prayer ~ and tea and cake and the opportunity to chat with like minded people. This attracts the more mature, but is open to all.

New for the autumn 2017, we are trialing a Craft and Chat session on the third Friday of the month, at 10.30 a.m. All are welcome to come along and learn a new craft, or just bring your knitting and have some fellowship, coffee and cake.

A small group meetings fortnightly, on a Thursday evening, to engage in Prayer for Israel, as the Bible encourages us to do.
